Since 1889
Founded by 30 farmers in Dundee Township
On March 14, 1889, thirty community-minded farmers in Walsh County formed a mutual so rural families could afford dependable insurance for their farms. The first policy was issued that June — and the first claim, in 1890, paid for a calf struck by lightning.
More than a century later, Dundee Mutual is still owned by its policyholders and still run from Park River — recognized by Grinnell Mutual as one of the top mutual companies it partners with across nine states.

Local, independent agents
52 agencies across 35 counties
Dundee Mutual policies are written exclusively through independent insurance agencies in the communities we serve — from Park River to Bismarck. Find the one nearest you and get a quote from a neighbor.
